My career in children’s health began in 2004, working first as a midwife and child health nurse. I had years of university education and clinical experience behind me but when my own child developed neurodevelopmental challenges, I discovered very quickly how much I still didn’t know.

I wanted to understand why.

​

That question changed the direction of my career.

​

I began looking beyond individual symptoms and diagnoses, exploring nutrition, biochemistry, gut health, genetics and immune function. In 2017, I completed a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine, graduating with distinction, and began practising in paediatric Functional Medicine.

But I didn't stop there.

​

The complexity of autism demanded a much deeper understanding of the developing brain. My postgraduate education has since expanded into functional immunology, nutritional biochemistry, environmental medicine, nutrigenomics, developmental neurology and neuroimmunology, alongside advanced autism-specific clinical training.

Today, Brain Kids brings those disciplines together.

I have spent more than 20 years working with children and almost a decade building the highly specialised clinical knowledge that now defines my practice.
